Accommodation at Read College
Options for accommodation include: * Halls of Residence * House or Flat Share * Homestay Placement
Like many specialist Vocational Performing Arts Colleges, many of our students come from outside the area and require accommodation for the duration of their course.
Read College provides a full support service for students seeking accommodation, through our partners at Host Link International who have many years of experience in providing fully vetted and and high quality placements for students in the Reading area.
Once a student is offered a place on one of our courses, they will be put directly in touch with our Accommodation Officer at Host Link, who will then find them the most suitable placement for their needs. This may be in one of the privately owned Halls of Residence that most of our students live in together (which are conveniently located between the college and the town centre), or by finding them a Homestay placement where you can live as a lodger with a host family. Other students may choose to find a house or flat share with other Read College students, which can also be co-ordinated through the college.
All of our accommodation is regularly monitored by Host Link International, and they also provide a full and ongoing support to students throughout their time at Read College.
During our current buildings project, students are being placed near to our new site in Reading centre and meanwhile transport is being organised by the college for the students to get to our temporary home about 15/20 minutes away.
“My time on the course helped me to realise how much I want to do this. It launched me into getting a full scholarship for Arts Ed and look at where I am now!”
