Read Dance and Theatre College

Read Dance and Theatre College is dedicated to providing the highest level of training to those who want to go on to pursue a career in Musical Theatre. Our unique, intensive one-year foundation course bridges the gap between part-time local dance schools/theatre schools and full-time, three-year vocational training. At the end of their year with us, students are entered for the Associate Diploma in Performing (Musical Theatre) awarded by Trinity College London and accredited at Level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework.

We have many years of experience in providing excellence in training, and we are led by experienced industry professionals. In fact, over the past eight years our graduates have gained scholarships and funded places on courses at Arts Educational Schools; London Studio Centre; Northern Ballet School; Bird College; Stella Mann; Performers College; and Urdang Academy, and have gone on to have successful careers in the Musical Theatre industry. Our teaching faculty come from many of the top colleges in the country and bring with them experience not only as teachers but also as professional performers, directors, musical directors and choreographers.

Craig Revel Horwood - RDTC Patron

We will produce professional, well trained, balanced students, with knowledge of all aspects of their industry, and we aim to give young people the best start to their career by preparing them to audition for further training, and by forming links with industry professionals. We will provide young people with the tools to enable them to manage themselves in further training both personally and professionally, and as a college we aim to constantly develop and innovate.

Craig Revel Horwood - Patron

"Training young performers is key to their future success, and if you're going to get a place at a top dance or drama college then you need an edge over the competition right from the start. That's why the course at Read is so important."
